2 After stopping at Idfu, we sailed on to Luxor (~140 mi from Aswan), where we stayed several nights.
3 Sadly, Roger broke a rib during the previous day's outing and had to stay behind on the Karim, taking some stiff pain meds. All was not lost: the chef prepared an excellent lunch, after which a nice drink was enjoyed in the lounge.

6 The burial tombs for the kings and queens were hidden for eons, buried in the mountains to the west of Luxor.
