Kizhi Island 8/26 - 9/6/2007

Located near the Arctic Circle on Lake Onega - further north than St. Petersburg - Kizhi Island is a State Museum of Cultural History with national treasures original to the island as well as some moved here from elsewhere for preservation. The latter includes the oldest wooden structure preserved in Russia.
